My watch strap is worn or stained by perspiration, what can I do to keep or clean it ?

Do not put any cream on your strap, you could stained your shirts. No cleaning products either, you may alter your leather strap color. The only effective treatment we advise is water. Remove your strap and let it dip into a bowl of clear water during a night (change the water after one hour if needed). The light stains will slightly blurred and the sweat marks, perspiration will leave naturally. Indeed, the perspiration consists essentially of water and salt. The salt stains and damages your strap. Fortunately, it will be dissolved entirely or partially in that clear water. Of course, this trick is not the panacea, but you may be pleasantly surprised by the result. Do not add any cleaning product in that water. Then, in the morning, let your strap air-dry (put on a towel) during a day before you wear it again.

PLEASE NOTE : never use any hairdryer or a heater to dry it. Your strap will be stiff and breakable.

What leather is the most resistant for sun aggression, water, perspiration and humidity ?

All leathers are resistant to the sun effects (degradation of the color) as long as the color you picked is dark. The more you will choose a clear color, the less your strap will be resistant. Watch the perspiration with clear leather colors, you may stain your strap. All the shark tiger colors resist very well the water. Some natural seal tannings and references color are also very resistant. Speaking about customization, you should go for a simple thickness and a sewing machine. The more you will choose a darker color, the less your strap will be marked by the perspiration.

What colors and leathers are the most resistant ?

The darker the color, the more your strap will be resistant. About the sun and the water, please read the answer to : What leather resists best to the sun, the water sea, the perspiration and humidity?

Do you offer other colors or leathers that the ones presented on the website ?

Our workshop boutique is a real trasure of colors. For some leathers like the alligator or the lizard, we offer more than one hundred. Naturally, for practical reasons, we cannot show you all our colors on internet but if you get a chance to surrender to Paris, come and you’ll see…

Is there any difference of color between the one i see on my computer screen and the item i will receive ?

Photos of straps are artistic photos, so, the lighting can distort a little bit the real strap color. Color references that we propose are high-resolution scans, images are compressed so that the time to upload these images will not be too long but we always make sure that any color reference is the real screen reflection of the color of origin. However please note that a light color variation may happened between the color you ordered and the tone you received, due to the performances and the adjustments of your computer and/or your screen.

During my order taking, must I use a desktop computer, a touchpad or a laptop ?

A light color variation may happened between the color you ordered and the tone you received, due to the performances and the adjustments of your computer and/or your screen. The performances (in particular regarding the screen resolution ) of the desktop computers are usually more important than those of the laptops. We suggest you to privilege this kind of computer to order on our site.

Do you prefer measures in inches or in millimeters?

The watch world industry use metric system, France use metric system... So, we prefer metric system. Nethertheless, we understand that some people may feel uncomfortable with millimeters as people from United States. Thus, you have the opportunity to use inches as a measure unit in your order form . We thak you NOT to use fractions.

Where do the leathers you are using coming from ? Do you use any leather from protected species?

We get our supplies from the entire world. Our cattle and goat leathers come mainly from the European Community. Our alligator leathers are from the United States. Other leathers, it depends obviously on leatherwears. We never use any illegal leather. Some regulated or protected species are the object of a special control regulated by the Convention of Washington on the protected species (CITIES : Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species). For example, alligator skins that we use come breeding (farms in Louisiana or Florida). Elephant skins are essentially from South Africa and their slaughter is controled (these animals are not only shot down for their skins).
